Does anyone else have this problem?
I am able to connect to salesforce, and I am able to see the table FeedItem, but I can't see the column BestCommentId.
Using the same credentials, I am able to login to workbench.developerforce.com and I do see this column.
From workbench I can make a query using the ID from my community URL of the discussion and get back all the columns, of which there are 6 that have a SF ID.
BestCommentId
CreatedById
Id
InsertedById
NetworkScope
ParentId
So the data is there, I can see it with the same credentials used from another tool.
Thinking the column may be labeled something else, I checked the value I get for BestCommentId and it doesn't match any other column.
So I am left stumped as to why this column BestCommentId and it's data is missing from PowerBI Salesforce connector.
What can I do in this situation?
Thanks,
Rob
Hi @v-yuezhe-msft were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
@rfcorcoran919,
What version of Power BI Desktop do you use? Have you tried to connect to salesforce in Excel and check if the column is visible?
Regards,
Lydia
I am running a newer version, 2.52.4921.682 64-bit (November, 2017)
I have had difficulty trying to use Excel Connector for Salesforce, so not able to try that.
However as stated above I can use another query tool with the same credentials and I can see this field.
@rfcorcoran919,
What is the type of the problem field? Could you please use the latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.54.4970.961) and check if the issue still occurs?
Regards,
Lydia
