refresh source data

Hello guys!

I had to change the file source in order to upload new data into power BI. The new data are exactly in the same format as the old ones (.csv), however when I click refresh the following error appears: "Expression.Error: The column '<ColumnTitle>' of the table wasn't found"

In order to investigate, I clicked on edit query and i found these chinese signs on the first cell. What do you think the error is?

Thx in advance.

Andrea

@Anonymous

This has to do with the csv encoding search for this term either here or...

Ooops I better not mention any search engine names Smiley Very Happy except Bing! here

Sorry that's all I'm telling you but I don't really work with csv files.

However I've seen this error somewhere and remember that this was the cause

Good Luck!

maybe #1 @ImkeF or #2 @MarcelBeug would know more about this Smiley Happy

Hi @Sean!

Thx a lot a appreciate your question. Sure it has to do with the source format. But it's same as the older file, .csv (comma delimited)

pls try the following:

In a new query, import your new data as csv.

It will "analyze" the file and automatically add some parameters, that might do the trick.

You can then analyze them in the formula-editor, it might be the last argument with the encoding that needs to be different.
