refresh data

Is it possible to refresh data from for example excel-files automatically with Power BI Desktop?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Im afraid not. Power bi desktop is a local application for designers. When you connect to an excel file, the connect mode is Import, you need to refresh manually after you changed the data source. Even if the connect mode is Direct Query, you can just use Page Auto refresh in power bi desktop. If you want to refresh data automatically, you need to publish to power bi service to configure scheduled refresh.

You did not quite specify the question.
You want to store data in Excel and connect it with Power BI. And then change the data in Excel and automatically refresh the report in Power BI. Right?
