refresh data

Hi Anonymous ,
I’m afraid not. Power bi desktop is a local application for designers. When you connect to an excel file, the connect mode is Import, you need to refresh manually after you changed the data source. Even if the connect mode is Direct Query, you can just use Page Auto refresh in power bi desktop. If you want to refresh data automatically, you need to publish to power bi service to configure scheduled refresh.
