Hello everyone,
I have a hierarchy divided into 4 levels that I would like to represent in a sunburst visual. However, not all the groups contain the 4th level and some are even containing only 2.
I would like to know if it is technically possible to do a representation similar to the one taken from Excel below. Or perhaps there are any other more suitable alternatives? thank you!
Hi @PhilipTreacy I'm afraid I don't understand whether your answer is saying 'no' it isn't technically feasible? I always thought the 'burst' bit of aa Sunburst chart was the solar flares that came out of it, otherwise its more of a concentric donut chart. However I've tried a lot with the two standard charts but with no joy. Great if you could clarify so I can try something totally different.
Seperately, @RobWayne did you find a solution or work out another way to achieve the visualisation you were looking for - any ideas greatfully recieved. I'm not a massive fan of Treemaps so trying to avoid that route!
Many thanks
Chris
Hi @RobWayne
If a level of the hierarchy is missing then the whole section will not be displayed in PBI's Sunburst. Your visual will consist of concentric rings, rather than this 'ragged' look.
You could consider a Treemap but you'll run into similar issues with missing data.
Regards
Phil
