Hello
I want to connect a Powerbi app to a dashboard.
I get the error of "The connect live option for this file is disabled...".
I click to enable Power BI Service Live Connection but it is not available in the Options:
Any idea?
Enable DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS in preview features
Hi @UsePowerBI ,
As @parry2k mentioned, you need to inform me more details(such as what data type you try to connect.powerbi dataset or SSAS ?What is your current desktop version? T he datasource you want to connect will use direct query or live connection?). Then we will help you more correctly.

Zoe Zhi

Hi @UsePowerBI ,
It seems that you use SSAS live connection in your powerbi dataset, and you also connect to other datasource type, right? If so, this might not be achieved. You could refer to desktop-analysis-services-tabular-data for details.
Question: If I created a live connection, can I connect to another data source in the same Power BI Desktop file?
Answer: No. You can't explore live data and connect to another type of data source in the same file. If you’ve already imported data or connected to a different data source in a Power BI Desktop file, you need to create a new file to explore live.

Is it possible to connect to a PBI dashboard with non-live connection?
Or is there any other workaround?
I really need to get the non-live data from the PBI dashboard and other non-live data from other resources.
Maybe I can use Sharepoint as an intermediate or is there any other way?
Thanks!
@UsePowerBI not sure what you are trying to do, you want to connect to power bi dataset, if yes, then , click get data and choose power bi dataset from the list of options.
