"Show Items with No Data" disabling Timeline slicer

I have a matrix visual in my case, which consists of 2 separate "Columns" fields, coming from different tables, one being a date and other being a category.
I wish to display all the categories even if there is no data, which can be done in multiple ways (Show items with no data, +0, if statement etc.), but in all the cases, the matrix visual displays 0s for all the dates as well.
The problem is that the dates are not filtered (instead, just highlighted) when I select an interval in the timeline slicer.

This is not helpful as we have a got a lot many years and the limited space doesn't let it all to be displayed at once.

Please suggest a workaround for this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @ssingh_leecare ,

According to my test, if you are using a date hierarchy and a normal column in the matrix and slicer respectively, it causes the slicer to fail to filter the dates in the matrix.

Like this, use the [MonthColumn] field in the slicer and use the [Date].Month in the matrix.

So please use the same date column for the matrix and the slicer.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

Hi @v-kkf-msft
They are coming from the same date column and as you mentioned, it is sill disabling the date filter.
Thanks for your response though!

Hi @ssingh_leecare ,

Could you please share your sample data or PBIX files that do not contain sensitive data? That would help us find the problem faster!

Best Regards,
Winniz
