Hi,
I have a pbi file which is reading data from sql tables, but strangely, the automatic summarization on numerical columns is not working. Generally when the column is of number (decimal/whole) type, it can be used on y axis as value fields, but I am unable to use any of the numeric columns from the table on plots, although I can use them on a legend where each numerical value is treated as categorical value rather than continous.
In the image below, I have selected the column `net_product_sales_ac30001` and as you can see on the top ribbon it is of decimal type and defualt summarization is sum, but strangely, the Summation sign is not appearing beside the column name. Also when I try to use this column in bar graph, it only allows me to use in legend field.
I have checked multiple times (in m query also) and made sure that column type is correct, but unfortunately not being able to resolve this. Any tips in regards to this will be very helpful.
I am sorry, due to company restrictions I am not authorised to share the data. But can you recommend any debugging steps? We also tried reproducing it in a different powerbi file, but in new powerbi file it works as expected.
@Anonymous - you could try adding a column that tests the type using Number. From and then keep error values. See PBIX example here.

Hi @Anonymous
Try exporting the pbix file as a Power BI template (pbit file). Then open the new pbit file and input the data source credentials to bring in the data and save it as a pbix file.
