Hi @f-99 - The error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" in Power BI typically indicates a problem with the installation, corrupt files, or a conflict with system settings.
Power BI Desktop | Microsoft Power Platform
Corrupted cache files can cause the error. Clear the cache folder:
Navigate to the cache location:
Windows 10/11:
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop
Delete the Cache folder.
Restart Power BI Desktop.
Repair or Reinstall Power BI Desktop
Repair Installation:
Go to Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features.
Find Power BI Desktop, select it, and click Repair.
Reinstall Power BI Desktop:
Uninstall Power BI Desktop.
Delete all residual files in the following locations:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop
Restart your computer and reinstall Power BI Desktop.
system compatilibilty:
Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later.
.NET Framework: Ensure you have .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later installed.
RAM: At least 4 GB (8 GB recommended).
