Hello,
I'm noticing that I'm having a lot more delays on page shifting on the desktop with the March release. I'm planning on downgrading shortly, but didn't know if anyone had experienced it and had suggestions.
This happens on multiple PBIX files, they aren't too large at 10MB and the CPU jumps to 34%, shows that PowerBI goes 'non-responsive," spikes to around 55% and then the page shifts.
I don't instantly apply filter changes, don't import or auto-detect relationships, no preview features are enabled.
Thanks
Hi @Anonymous ,
1.Are these files connected in direct query or live connection mode?
2.Does these files work normally in desktop if you dont update the version to the March release?
3.Do you use complicated dax calculation in your model?
Advise me the above questions.
1. neither. I cannot use live connection I don't even know what that is. They are Imports. Note: if this is connecting to a published Power BI Service Datasource, that is not even an optionfor me.
2. I cannot go too far backwards so I cannot determine that as i get warnings indicating that i've built querys using a later version and it may not work completely.
3. I don't know how to define complex in terms of DAX, but I generally only do a few if statements to make sure (blank) doesn't show up in cards.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Whether the delays happen when you start other processes?I'm guessing whether your computer is overloaded..
But if it only happens in desktop, try to uninstall it and reinstall it via Microsoft store or download it via the link below:
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/desktop/
You might try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling. I've not seen anyone else report this. As to your IF statements, assuming you are on the March 2020 or later, you can replace IF with COALESCE and it is a bit easier.
Old way:
Record Count =
IF (
COUNTROWS ( 'Table' ) = BLANK (),
0,
COUNTROWS ( 'Table' )
)
New way:
Record Count =
COALESCE( COUNTROWS ( 'Table' ) ,0)
COALESCE() simply returns the first non-blank result in its list.

MCSA: BI ReportingI've not seen that, but ensure you have the latest. They did the initial release, and at least two more minor fixes have come out since then. I've seen at least two delivered automatically via the Microsoft Store.
