I created a dataflow in the Service (Pro) using OData as the data connection for 4 tables. It has automatically refreshed a couple of times already, but when I try to consume the data in PBI Desktop (2.126.927.0 64-bit (February 2024)), it is not shown as an option. The workspace (Engineering) it is in does not even show as an option in the hierarchy.
Should see "Engineering" at the same level as General Spend
A different data flow in a different workspace (General Spend) using HANA as a source works as expected. Is there something about OData that prevents it from being shown in Desktop, or some kind of configuration with the workspace I need to look at?
Thanks in advance
David
Is this on Premium? Did you publish the app? Did you click on the app link to "install" the app?
HI @lbendlin
This is Pro space, not premium. I have republished the app that contains the dataflow (even though there is no plave for me to tell the app to include the dataflow?) with no luck. The app is set to auto-install.
It does, however, appear when I use "Power BI dataflows (Legacy)" as the connector.
When re-publishing the app I also upgraded the app to the "new" version - do I need to recreate the dataflow now that the workspace and app are both upgraded?
Thanks
David
Should be ok. One more question - did you refresh the detaflow?
It has been refreshed several times.
The fact that it appears in Power BI dataflows (Legacy) makes me want to create another similar one, now that the workspace and app have been upgraded. I will report back when I have done so.
David
I recreated the dataflow in the same workspace, and then created a new workspace and built it there. Neither of those show up in the "Dataflow" connector, but both show up in the "Power BI dataflows (Legacy)" connector.
Could it be that OData is not supported in the modern dataflow, so it is defaulting to a legacy one?
This doesn't mention ODATA specifically but it mentions Direct Query...
