Hi Experts,
I am using Excel Power Pivot and I am trying to order the mmm-yyyy calendar field in descending order. In order to avoid getting mmm-yyyy field to be sorted alphabetically, I have set the sorting in the data model "soft by column" ribbon like shown below.
However, even after setting the sort order in that way, I still get the mmm-yyyy field sorted by alphabecally (in descending order), while it should be showing the month Nov-2023 instead of Sep-2023. I'd appreciate it if you could let me konw how I can fix this issue.
Thank you!

Thanks @Ahmedx
I checked my custom list and mmm (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun ... etc) is already included in the list by default. However, when combined with years, like mmm-yyyy, it is sorted by alphabetical order. Does this mean, that I have to create the list of mmm-yyyy even though system should be recognizing it as combinations of mmm and yyyy as shown in the calculated column below?
This issue occurs only when I try to sort the mmm-yyyy by descending order, and when it is in ascending order, it is getting sorted appropriately in the date order as shown in the comparison of slicer (in ascending order) and the pivot table field (in descending order).
you need to create the list of mmm-yyyy
Thanks @Ahmedx but the problem is that the list of mmm-yyyy keeps growing with time and not static. I got your point that Excel cannot relate mmm and mmm-yyyy combined with Year for sorting properly but there would be so many items in mmm-yyyy list and I thought Excel was clever enough to sort out from the sorting of mmm and yyyy separately.
