Howdy,
I am trying to find out if it is possible to create a Power BI report with mapping functionality of which allows easy filtering along with radius outlines.
In my research, I have found that ArcGIS fulfils half of my requirements; eg: Fully interactive map with ability to add radius around a specified point (postcode or LatLong). The issue I'm having is that I cant seem to find a way to easily filter this map view to encircle a user specified point (from a standard Splicer). The steps to achieve this manually are:
For me, and for any user utilising this report, this is too many steps.
I was thinking that maybe creating a Google Map API and embedding this into my Power BI report might possibly achieve this, but then again I don't even know if this would be much better than what I currently have.
Does anyone know of any other way that this can be done? Preferably with less than 8 steps?
Thanks,
Jonny
Hi @JonnyLangDBA,
Currently, only ArcGIS map visual supports the functionality that highlighting area with radius based on a specified point. Apart from this, there is no other possibility to achieve that with less than 8 steps.
Besides, it is not allowed to embed Google Map API into desktop. Someone has submitted a feature request here, you can click to vote it up.
