is it possible to copy datasets and reports to another user account?

I need to move my existing datasets and reports from reports@me.com.au (domain locked to GoDaddy and they don't offer PowerBI Pro licenses) to reports@me.com (newly created PowerBI Pro account). How can I do this??

Hi @sparky030405,

As of now, it it not possbile to transfer the published reports together with its related datasets from the original owner to another account. There is an idea about this feature request and PG has already  started work on allowing Power BI Service Admins (and other Office 365 global admins) to add new users to existing personal or app workspaces.

As a workaround, you could deploy the Report to the App WorkSpace. And you can grant edit permission to members or assign Admin role to other users. That way, members can have full access to reports and datasets, working as report owner.

Alternatively, you can share a content pack which can contain reports/dataset/dashboard with others. Recipients can store the reports under their own account, or make a a copy of content pack then customize the content.

Best regards,

Yuliana Gu
