informix connector error

I am using latest veriosn of Power BI desktop.

My informix server is on windows with DRDA support.

I can conenct initaialy and see the list of tables, when I select even only one table, preview never finishes.

I f I click OK then Load screen also never finnishes, I can only click cancel.

Later in query editor I can see some syntax errors.

DataSource.Error: Microsoft Informix Client: A syntax error has occurred. SQLSTATE=42000 SQLCODE=-201

After many  hours of playing I connected to one of my databases, only diference is that database name is 8 characters long.

Hi @domagoj,

From the error message, it prompted that there might existing some syntax error in your SQL statement. This article shows that such an error can be returned from SQLExecDirect, SQLExecute, SQLPrepare, SQLSetPos. Please run your SQL statement in informix  database itself to find the root cause.

That SQL is generated by Power BI in process of connecting to data soruce, I have no control over it.

As I said it workd with databse whic name is 8 chars or less.

But that doent make sense, because , on database which has more than 8 chars in databse name it gives the list of tables.

Does the 8 char limit goet to table name also, I should investigate.....

However is there solution to this limitation ???
