i can't put columns in values field in any visual (card, chart)

Hello, I hope everyone is well!

I'll paste example gifs for my problem below:
PBIDesktop_B2JxSfc2BT.gifPBIDesktop_TpL19RhrYr.gifPBIDesktop_YgN1ZGVbMt.gifPBIDesktop_UVqBBIroRI.gif

I basically can't use any of the columns in my tables, whether in cards or graphics. And when I put them in a table and convert them to card, I can't count, add, average or anything like that.

The cards that already exist work, but I can't change them either, for example from count to different count.
the problem is in the file, since I created a new file and I can work normally! I tried to open the file on 3 different computers and the same error occurs.

Any help would be delighted, if you have any questions or anything I can test let me know.

THX

I have the same problem, someone knows how to solve it. I don't have calculation groups I'm using the latest version

I had this issue and have since solved it. I've documented my steps below.

  1. Download Tabular Editor onto your desktop.
  2. Once it is installed, when you open Power BI again you should have an additional tab, "External Tools". Within this tab you will see Tabular Editor as an option, click it.
  3. Tabular editor will open and you will see your data model in the top right under the "TOM Explorer".
  4. In the TOM Explorer click on the Model icon.
  5. Change the "Discourage Implicit Measures" setting to false.

Hope this helped 🙂

This works, but first make sure to unflag the option "Model explorer and Calculation group authoring" from File > Options and Settings > Options > Preview Features

@Anonymous , Please check the datatype of these columns.

Also, have you created a calculation group recently on any columns? if yes, then remove that and try.
