how to use linked tables from access

I have a ms-access database with few physical table and few linked table.

Power BI is able to show physical table

I am not able to use the  Linked tables which are in MS-Access.

how to use linked tables from access ?

Hi @rajendradewani,

where do the linked tables come from? I have linked tables from excel files, which I can import from Access without any problems. Anyway: when the import doesn't work at all, an alternativ could be just to import the original file, instead of the linked one from Access.

Currently, the Linked tables are to QuickBooks Data using QODBC.

Linked table is via ODBC Data source.

Import will always work because it will create physical tables in ms-access. We need to use Linked tables as we would like to fetch live records.

Import to a physical table will make the report offline and we will need to refresh the ms-access database every time we run the report.

so to clarify - the fact that Access links to QuickBooks is not really a factor in regard to PBI.  What you seek is a PBI Desktop connector to QuickBooks.  Is it the QB online service or on premise QB windows application?

I have the same problem but in my case connecting to a Access database with a MYOB (Account Edge) link

This is working fine with Tableau...

Ironic you would think Microsoft would know how  to connect to a MS Access database better than Tableau, would't you?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello, I am having a similar issue. Wonder if anyone figured this out? My example is a little more simple.

I created an Access database using Linked Tables. When I go to Excel and import the data from the Access database using Power Pivot, it does not recognize that there are any linked tables. I get an error saying "No tables were found in the data source. Check the connection information and login credentials." However, I do not have a password protecting this database. If I were then to go to the Access database and click Convert to Local Table and try to import that to Power Pivot, it works. So there seems to be an issue where Power Pivot/Power BI cannot recognize linked tables?
