Hello!
I am attempting to re-create a chart that I have previously made in excel in powerBI. In excell i simply used conditional formatting to change the color of each cell according to the size of the data value in that cell. Therefore before I spend too much time pulling my hair out trying to figure this out I was wondering if anyone had 1. A recommendation for a custom visual to use, 2. A recommendation for using conditional formatting within powerBI
Anything helps, thanks!!

Oh, you want to add the date hierarchy to the columns or create your own based on Month and then Day. Then use the forked arrow drill down to drill down the column to the day level.
My example will show you how to eliminate the actual numeric values so that you get something more like your original chart picture.
The table and matrix visuals support conditional formatting. Works like Excel. Use the drop down arrow in the Values area to apply conditional formatting.
An example of what you are trying to recreate would be helpful.
So I have gotten this far with the conditional formatting! But I would like to, if possible, not aggregate the total monthly data but instead have each day for each month on the top x-axis and have not been able to arrange that yet.

I will take a look. Thanks a bunch for your help Greg!

I kind of broke my cardinal rule about asking people to supply text data that can be copied because I was interested in this. Seems like you can create this via a blank column and a conditional formatting based upon a measure. See attached PBIX. This is my working copy as I solve problems on the forum so it has a bunch of stuff you don't want. Look at Page 6 and Table 15.
