format content in excel data source

Hello,

I have an existing power bi report. I would like to add one more Page in the report which would display Data dictionary for the report. I have the report content in the excel format. Below are my requirements.

a) My report has one page which pulls data from another source. This data dictionary page has to pull data as-is from the excel sheet and displayed side by side.

b) The formatting has to be retained as shown in the screen shot. 

Please advise how this can be accomplished.

Hi @hmokkapati,

Firstly, we can get data from different data source in one report. Such as you can get a table from SQL Server database and create a report on page 1, and then you can get data from a Excel sheet to show it on page 2.

Then if you need the formatting to be retained as shown in your screenshot, you need to change the datatable structure and then use a matrix visual to show your data.

Thank you for your response.

Using matrix, we can get the formatting as needed in the first column Report.

But in the Description, if I need some words to be in Bold/Italic or want to apply any other styles is it possible?
