filter based on date

Wanting to create a filter that lists sales in a previous year up to todays date.  I have the date in my dataset as a whole number which is in Century, Year, Month, and day format.  So for today it would look like 1230808.  I would like to create a filter that would filter data from the first of the year (so for 2021 it would 1210101) to the same day as today in 2021 to compare sales (which would be 1210808).  Any ideas?  Trying some ideas but always get blank in my result.  Thank you.
