A field parameter in Power BI lets you create visuals where users can dynamically switch which column or field is used for the axis, legend, or values without needing to create separate visuals for each field.
In your example, the “Dynamic X Axis” parameter allows you (or your report viewers) to choose between different dimensions like Campus, College, Program, etc., on the X-axis of a chart. When a user selects a different option from a slicer tied to this parameter, the visual updates instantly to show data by that field making your reports much more interactive and flexible.
