Hi @powerbiexpert22

Standard Power BI reports can’t export to Excel with the same look and feel, you’ll only get the raw data. PDF or PPT keep the layout.

Workaround: If you need a “formatted” Excel export, build it as a Paginated Report in Report Builder. Those are designed for pixel-perfect layouts, and the Excel export will keep your colours, headers, and structure much closer to what you see on screen.

Hi @powerbiexpert22 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. Thank you @rohit1991 and @mh2587  for your helpful response.

Power BI doesn’t offer a built-in way to export a report page to Excel that keeps the same appearance, such as colors, layout, and positioning, whether you’re using Power BI Desktop or the Service. The usual export to Excel options only give you the underlying data from visuals, not the formatted report view.

If you want to keep the report’s visual formatting, the closest built-in options are exporting to PDF or PowerPoint, which will preserve the look and feel as shown in Power BI.

For cases where you need Excel output with formatting, it’s best to create the report as a Paginated Report with Power BI Report Builder. Paginated Reports allow for pixel-perfect layouts, and exporting to Excel will keep your colors, headers, and structure like your report’s design. More details are available here: Export Power BI paginated report to Microsoft Excel (Power BI Report Builder) - Power BI | Microsoft...

Alternatively, if you have flexibility in format, you could also use the Analyze in Excel feature for interactive analysis, though this will reflect the data model rather than the visual layout.

Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.

Thank you.

No, unfortunately, Power BI cannot export a report page to Excel with the exact same look and feel (colors, titles, layout, and positioning) that you see in the report.
