exceptionDataMessage issue when trying to create a relationship

Hello,

I am trying to create a new relationship between two tables in my SQL endpoint in Microsoft Fabric. I previously had a table called "problems", which was deleted. However, now when I am trying to create a relationship using my new table called "problem_logs", it gives me the following error: 

The changes didn't work, so we've reverted your model to a working state. Try again.

with underlying error:

{"batchRootActivityId":"8d4034cb-de75-4104-b3ba-06fe420d44fa","exceptionDataMessage":"Tables '<ccon>problems</ccon>' not found in etl or database."}

Which is weird, because
1. The table problems is not in my model anymore,
2. The relationship I am trying to create is between my facts table and a table called "problem_logs"

Any help is appreciated,

Hi @Anonymous ,

1. Check for residual references: Even though the 'Problems' table has been deleted, there might be residual references to it in your model or in other tables. There might be other objects in your model (like measures, calculated columns, or other relationships) that are still referencing the 'Problems' table. You could review your model to ensure there are no remaining references to the 'Problems' table Please check all your tables and relationships for any leftover references to the 'Problems' table and remove them.
2. Caching Issue: Sometimes, systems cache the schema of the database for performance reasons. If the 'Problems' table was recently deleted, the system might still be referencing the cached version. You could try refreshing your database connection or restarting your SQL endpoint to clear the cache.
3. Metadata Inconsistency: The metadata of your database might not have been updated correctly after the 'Problems' table was deleted. You could try to rebuild the metadata of your database.

Hi @v-cgao-msft 

I have the same issue too. 

However, I have no clue how to implement your suggested solutions:

- 1.: This is not the case (I think). The deleted table was never used.

- 2.: Refresh your database connection or restart your SQL endpoint: How do I restart my SQL endpoint? Do you mean close the browser screen and reopen it? Tried it, didn 't work,

- 3.: Try to rebuild the metadata of your database: 1) It isn't a database, but a Fabric Lakehouse; 2) How do i rebuild metadata things in Fabric? The whole idea of SaaS is, that metadata etc are hidden from us.
