I uploaded .xlsx file into Sharepoint (or One Drive - I am not able to differentiate this), then accessed this data with Power BI Desktop - get data from Sharepoint folder. When trying to refresh I used to get this:
Now I am not able to do anything in query editor.
How to get through this?
Moreover, I noticed after uploading to sharepoint and downloading just after my file size droped from 450mb to 250mb.
When trying to open (excel already downloaded from Sharepoint) it is not working, saying sth like file is corrupted and about wrong extension.
Not sure what happens there

Hi
Let me close this thread. Data are confidential so I couldnt share.
But the issue is somewhare in data. My remarks:
Excel on local drive is not read the same way as the same excel uploaded to sharepoint OR excel uploaded to sharepoint is converted causing Power BI cannot read data returning error. Of course it happens in specific cases which I cannot describe here because I couldnt find the row/s in data responsible for the error.
@Anonymous,
It seems that the Excel source file is corrupted as you are unable to open the downloaded Excel file. Please upload a valid Excel file to replace the existing Excel file in SharePoint, then connect to SharePoint folder in Power BI Desktop.
Regards,
Lydia
Hi Lydia
It is not exactly like this. The excel file is initially fine. Something happens after an upload. I tried saving it in binary format but with the same results. It looks like Sharepoint is changing sth in the file. Then when I download the file it becames corupted. Also Power BI desktop cannot read this file. Excel I mean is a simple database (about 750k rows and 30-40 columns)
There is no problems to connect to this file when it is saved locally on my computer.
@Anonymous,
Could you please share the Excel file so that I can test?
Regards,
Lydia
