error message when getting data through the Web

Hi,

I’m trying to bring a dataset from a web page.  I know the dataset format is an excel one.   I did Get Data then Web and  I pasted the URL.  However,  when,  I received the following message:

Unable to Connect

We encountered an error while trying to connect

Details: External table is not in the expected format

I shared the URL with another colleague who has PowerBi and he was able to connect and get the dataset. What can explain that I received this message from my side? And how I can resolve this?

Hi naeljb,

Which kind of website are you trying to connect? Please update your pbi desktop to the lastest version and check again. In addtion, if the issue still happens, could you share the power query code for further analysis?
