error for log folder path

When I import the data from folder on file server that has deep folder nest, it returns OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataFormat.Error]. These are many over 200 length path. Anyway I want to analyze file server. How can I read all files, its path, size and others from our file server?

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Data reading was inturrupted when I got the error importing the data from folder.

I use powershell script as below without intrrupting by error.

get-childitem \\fileserver\path -recurse | where-object{! $_.psiscontainer}| select-object
CreationTime,LastAccessTime,LastWriteTime,length, extension,name,directory | export-csv c:\outputfolder\data.csv -encoding UTF8

Hi @Tokimatu

Do you get data from Folder in Power BI Desktop?

It seems your path length is larger than the maximum which it can run with.

Best Regards

Maggie

Is there other procedure to get the long path?
