do we have any seperate group for power bi embedded in this forum? i am new to power bi embedding and i want to explore more? can i try to embed some reports using API ? how to do this and which type of license i must have to do this?

Hi  @powerbiexpert22 ,

You can consider generating an embed token for your embedded report yourself, then use the ‘use my embed token’ option in the official Power BI embed playground to simulate the appearance of your report after embedding.

You might also consider using postman to call the api

Based on my research, if you need to embed PBI reports into your desktop/application, you may need to use embed for customer or embed for organization.

It is recommended that you use Embed for your customers, App users don't need a license

Ensure that Power BI Embedded is set up in Azure to allow applications to authenticate and render Power BI reports

Note:

You can try using RLS associated with Power BI Embedded to ensure data security and privacy.

To embed any report you need at least PRO licence. Every user who is going to see embeded report also needs a PRO licence - that's main disanvantage.

So, for developing purpose you need PRO license and premium workspace aswell. But, for viewing user's won't need PRO license. Just if they have o365 email id. It's enough to view embedded report.

Power BI gives three trial periods for basically everyone I know. Go to https://app.powerbi.com/ on the right hand side click on your user and have a look if you're eligable to get one.
