embedding dax measure within formula

I want to add measure1 into  measure2 formula:

Measure 1

Total Passers = CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT(EXAMINEES[ID]),FILTER(EXAMINEES,EXAMINEES[PASS_DATE] <> BLANK()))

measure 2 -- DOES NOT WORK (syntax is not correct)

Difference between passers per year (measure 2) =

SUM ( [Total Passers ])
      - CALCULATE (
             SUM ([Total Passers] ),
                     FILTER ( ALLSELECTED ( EXAMINEES ),EXAMINEES[PASS YEAR] = MAX ( EXAMINEES[PASS YEAR] ) - 1 )
)

or May be betterway of writing this.

I appreciate your help.

Hey,

I guess this will already will do the trick:

[Total Passers]
      - CALCULATE (
            [Total Passers] ,
                     FILTER ( ALLSELECTED ( EXAMINEES ),EXAMINEES[PASS YEAR] = MAX ( EXAMINEES[PASS YEAR] ) - 1 )
)

SUM() and all the other aggregation functions expect a column reference, but not a measure.

Regards,

Tom
