drill through button on Timeline report

Hi team,

I am working on a timeline report where that doesnt have drill though option, So planned to pull a button for the same. but this button enable only when i click on the visual.

The requirement is to have a button by default it redirect to the drill through page without the filter and once we click on the visual it has to drill though with the selected filters on the visual.

See the attached pbix file. I have not put any action on the button, but if you select a product in the table you should see the button appear. Consider the conditional formatting I've applied.

If you have the measure grayed out as an option, this is usually because the data type does not match the formatting rules you are trying to apply. What is the data type of your Measure7?

@Anonymous I'm not sure this functionality is built in, but you can have two buttons - one with Page Navigation to the page in question, one with Drillthrough that only activates when a specific item/time is selected. You can use the button features to change the disabled text of the button so that it says 'Select a feature in the timeline below' instead of 'Details' when nothing is selected.

@AllisonKennedy

thanks for the quick response. it really helped.

As you said i have created two button( one for drill though and other for page navigation) and place one botton on top of other and hide the drill though button when we havent select any visual items.

But here the page navigation button is enabled all the time so i cant click over the drill trough button.  so is there have any ways i can disable the page navigation button if i have selected any visuall item.

If you put them next to each other you might have better success than if they're on top of each other, but either way you can create a DAX measure to check if visual item is selected (use ISFILTERED or ISCROSSFILTERED and then the column name of the visual item)

and use that to title/display the button with the fx under button Text.

Does that make sense?

@Anonymous
Sorry, your image is too small to see - it won't let you select Measure7?

It works on my test and looks selectable in your small screenshot, but like I said your image is too small to see for sure if that measure is disabled. Your measure DAX looks right.

I have used

ButtonText = IF(ISFILTERED('Table'[Category]), "Details", "")

In my testing
