does importing a visual and not using it slow down the overall report?

Hi guys,

 

just a quick question which I can not seem to find an answer to.

title is exactly what I want to know 🙂

Hi @fisqkuz1 

Whether it will slow down the whole report is not absolute. From a certain point of view, every time the report is loaded or the data changes are detected, each visual will refresh the data. If the data is huge or the model is complex, or the DAX expression used is not efficient, it will lead to the slow loading of visual.

Each visual requires time to refresh. You can measure the amount of time it takes to refresh each visual by using Performance Analyzer in Power BI Desktop:
