data with accounting number format from Excel file imported as text

In my Excel file I have column that has data with accounting number format, but when I import it in Power Bi, data are interpreted as text and when I try to change data type for column it ends with an error Invalid procedure call or argument

My decimal symbol is coma, and Excel recognizes that, but my guess is that it is somehow the cause of this problem.

What is the solution to make Power BI recognize accounting number format? Ok, as a workaround (maybe) could be switching to dot as a decimal symbol, but is there a better solution?

@prokurors Which interface language you want to change Power BI desktop or Power BI Service?

For Power BI Service use the instructions here

For Power BI Desktop you need to use installer in your desired language. Follow following steps:

1. Go to Power BI desktop download page here

2. Under Download button there is a link Advanced Download Options

3. It will take you to the page where you can select you desired language and download the installer.

4. Just follow normal installation procedure to install it.

@prokurors It looks like a Locale issue. Try to change the Locale setting to your region.

File -> Options & Settings -> Options ->Data Load

Change the Locale settings and then check if it works or not.

Hello,

it did not help - still the same error.

P.S. And one more thing - I can't find a way to change interface language. Currently it shows my language (Latvian), but I would prefer English since it would make it easier for me to learn/search for problem solutions - now I have to translate interface in order to ask a question on the forum (and translate to understand how to apply suggested solutions)
