dashboard separators -- categorization

How can I seperate different categories in my dashboard? I want something simple like a line. However, you can't pin shapes. You can't paste an image of a line without the pinned visual having an outline of the box with white space separating the line from the dashboard. It seems pretty **bleep** stupid I can't do this.

How about adding an image as the background? I would suggest you create an idea here.
