counters do not update with play axis scatter plot

I have a scatterplot. There are counters for different aspects/filters.

I add play axis to play along each month.

The counters work when I change the month by the slicers (ie from 23 in the total year, to 5 for Jan only). But when I play the axis for the month, the value do not change, and it remains at 23 as the play axis goes from Jan to Dec.

Is there any way around this?
