column header missing in matrix table

Hi,

I need to create a table which should look like the first table.

In the column fields, there are two fields added: calculation and name.  As a result, there should be two column header lines, one line showing calculation categories like Revenue, direct labor etc.  the other line showing time intelligence type "YTD".

For some reason, I couldn't duplicate the table below even though I have copied the first table. After updating a few data points,  the name field disappeared from the column header. So my table looks like the one on buttom, the time intelligence name is not appearing. I couldn't figure out the reason as I have only copied the first table and made on change in value fields.

Hi @Jeanxyz

Have you tried expanding your column to the next level in the hierarchy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xir0gmFUiQI&ab_channel=Inforiver

Thanks danextian.  I got the correct laytout now. You are definitely pointing at the right direction.

I don't see the expand option at the beginning. After switching one of the column fields to another one, the expand option appears, I have to expand the table in that setup, then replace the column field with the one i need.

Not sure why Power BI matrix table doesn't give me the expand option at the beginning.
