cardinlaity Issue

Hi Everyone,

I'm quiet new to this subject. Hence I seek your assistance for the following.

  • I have 3 xcels sheets
    1. Employee data for the month of January with details of each and employee( I can get the January headcount using this sheet)
    2. Employee data for the month of February with details of each and employee( I can get the January headcount using this sheet)
    3. Budegetd head count for the whole year
  • I need to prepare a dashboard which shows all the data for the year. (this needs to include a slicer so that user can filter it according to the month.
  • I firstly created a date table.
  • Since both "Jan" & "Feb" excels doesn't have any dates in the table I added a new column and typed Month = "2019/01/01" so that I'll get a column for jan and I did the same for Feb.
  • Then I tried to make relationship between Date table and both the Jan, Feb tables.

I could create the first link between date table and jan file. Bt I'm unable to create it between feb and date file. when I put cardinality as "One to many" i'm getting an error saying "The cardinality you selecetd for ths relationship is not valid"

Coudl someone please assis me on this?

Hi KJay,

When you use one-many, you need to make sure One part table don't have dupliate record, you need to check this in your table. And you need to check whether your use the correct column to create relationship. You also use many-many relationship.
