I can connect from SSMS to the Azure SQL db using entra authentication but not from powerbi desktop as getting this error
Each time we are getting below ERROR ,while Client IP is already added in azure portal
Details: "Microsoft SQL: Cannot open server 'xxxxx' requested by the login.

We really apologies for the inconvenience,i would have read the question again sorry for that.
When connecting to an Azure SQL Database from Power BI Desktop, it's important to choose the correct authentication method to avoid connection issues. In the SQL Server connector, if your account uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you should select Azure Active Directory - Universal with MFA, which is the recommended option. If your account does not require MFA, then you can use Azure Active Directory - Password instead. Using the appropriate authentication method ensures a stable and secure connection, while avoiding common errors that can occur with options like "Organizational Account," which is not reliably supported for Azure SQL connections.

had installed latest powerbi desktop
added client/user IP to azure firewall rules and he can access db using ssms
