Please help I'm can't connect excel file on power bi desktop with free license.

By the looks of it, you are not trying to connect to an Excel file. Can you please click edit and post a screenshot?

Hi @Bammmmm Not sure why did this occur but you don’t need any Power BI license to get data from excel. A pro license at the very least is only required for sharing reports or publishing them to the Power BI Service. Can you check connecting with a separate excel dataset file?

Hi @Bammmmm 

Is your Excel file data already connected with SSAS? What is the data source of the excel data?
Please create a fresh Excel file with sample data and let's try to connect.
Please share the status
