can not import data from SAP hana database

hi all

i am trying to get data from SAP Hana database

but i face a problem can not get data from a tabel AC_MM_PUR_POLIST

DataSource.Error: ODBC: ERROR [S1000] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General error;2048 column store error: search table error:  [34023] Instantiation of calculation model failed;exception 306106: Undefined variable: $$SAPClient$$. Variable is marked as required but not set in the query

Anyone experiencing this issue trying to run report from Power BI Online to SAP HANA backend please see solution which worked for us.  Our implementation uses the Power BI Gateway with Edit Variables functionality (SAML). You can check the GatewayErrors log file (enable Gateway Diagnostics) to get more details of the error.

Solution for us check your SAP HANA views locate the mandatory input parameters. Set a default value for each required parameter. The default value will be overrided by the Edit Variables selection in PBI online.  See SAP OSS note 2578978 for further details.

Hi @patricknabil,

It looks like you defined variables in SAP Hana database, right? Any variables defined in the underlying SAP HANA view will be displayed at the time of connecting, and the necessary values can be entered. When you created the connection from Power BI desktop, did you specify the valid values for variables?
