Hi, I did my research and know there is no macro in Power BI and Power BI automation does not work with visual contents. But may be you know another path to find a solution to my probelm?
Issue: Dashboard represent lots of data about one specific company. Slicer at the top offer a drop down list of the companies, so user can select any and see the numbers and charts about that company only.
I need to go through the full list of companies and make screenshot of the dashboard for each of them. Of course the list of companies is coming from the dataset, so if there is a way to loop it through column in the table it would be great.
Power BI desctop or online - whatever can be helpful.
Another option is to create a keyboard shortcut just to "select next in the list", as this already will simplify the workflow as I do have shortcut for printscreen and saving it in the correct folder.
Any ideas how to automate it or at least simplify the process? Thank you
Hey @Anonymous ,
first of all do you mean dashboard or report?
A dashboard doesn't have slicers, if they have it's a pinned report. Then you can do that in the report.
What you can do is safe every chosen company as a bookmark. The bookmarks you can then play as a slideshow.
This make it easier for you to take screenshots.
A last approach would be to use the "send as PDF" task from Power Automate and add the slicer as a parameter. But then you would get the filtered report as a PDF via email. Would that be an option?
@selimovd thank you for a quick reply!
My comments and questions:
-> Bookmark solution will not work as the list is changing from report to report, so manualy saving them is more work than printscreens themselves.
-> pdfs sent to an email is a great solution. But I don't know where to start. Can you please direct me how to do the Power Automate?
Looks like I am confused with the terms. So what's the difference between dashboard and report? I have Power BI report (?) with several pages, each page with any visuals, filters, slices. Which one is called dashboard in this case?
Hey @Anonymous ,
the difference between a Report (= Power BI File) and a Dashboard (= overview over specific elements from different reports) is explained in a nice way in this video:
