Hi,
I am getting data from a web source in my report. The report is having 5 different queries/tables which URLs are like below:
180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI1
180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI2
180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI3
180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI4
180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI5
The problem which i am experiencing is when i am editing/refresh a single query, out of these above 5 URL, in power bi desktop it sends request for all urls to the source server (180.10.3.12:10000). these requests go even if i simply click on tranform data. this increases the unnecessary load on the source and in result a huge delay in getting the response or failure many times.
If i edit for single table/query (for e.g. 180.10.3.12:10000/BC/v5/KOJ/TMK/MCG/TPI4) the request to the source should go for this query only.
Is there any standard setting available in PBI desktop to fix this or any possible way to stop sending these multiple request to source?
Please suggest.
Thanks
Hi @jitpbi ,
Are you saying that if you refresh only one table, other tables will also be refreshed?
Best regards,
Lionel Chen

@jitpbi bit hard to explain, look thru this post and basically you can use the same approach to not process 4 links but only process one but in service change the parameter to process all 5.
If you still not able to get thru this, let me know.

Hi @parry2k ,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I can change the data load setting for paraller loading but not very clear on parameter.
It would be great if you can explain bit more on the parameter, i mean how to do this exactly.
Thanks
@jitpbi you can add a paramter wiht yes/no and in desktop keep it "No" and in this case only process one URL for development, once you are happy publish the report to Power Bi service and under Power BI dataset change the value of this parameter to "Yes" and once it is refreshed in Power BI service, based on the logic all the URLs will refresh.
Also, turn off Parallel loading of tables:
