Hi
I have recently connected Power BI to ZenDesk and downloaded the data model. It comes with lots of prebuilt visualisations but they're pretty basic so I would like to build my own, the only problem is, I can't seem to get a date table to connect properly.
I have attached the following images:
The data model as it comes out of the ZenDesk app which shows the calendar table unconnected to the data model. I have tried to connect this to the ticket table but the visualisation doesn't work as it should.
When I click into the Transform Data tab, there are two tables which didn't load so I have loaded these into the data model.
The third image shows the updated data model, however no matter what I connect the calendar table too, I can't visualise the data (number of tickets raised over time).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Did you download this data model template from somewhere? I'd like to use the same thing
Hi @Anonymous!
We've developed the app Power BI Connector
https://www.zendesk.com/marketplace/apps/support/834457/power-bi-connector-by-alpha-serve/ it allows you to connect Zendesk to Power BI in less than 5 minutes.
On our website https://www.alphaservesp.com/products/zendesk/power-bi/ you could open the documentation and find the answer to your question and we have fast/responsive support team at support@alpha-serve.com .
Please let us know if you need any assistance.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Connecting a date table properly in Power BI can be a bit tricky, especially when dealing with data from external sources like ZenDesk. Here are some steps you might find helpful:
Ensure the Date Field is Correct: Make sure the date field in your date table is of the correct data type (i.e., Date or Date/Time) and contains unique and continuous dates.
Create Relationships: In the Power BI data model, create a relationship between the date field in your date table and the corresponding date field in your ZenDesk tables. Make sure the relationship is active and of the correct type (usually one-to-many from the date table to the ZenDesk table).
Mark as Date Table: In Power BI Desktop, mark your date table as a date table. This tells Power BI to use this table for time intelligence calculations.
Use USERELATIONSHIP Function: If there are multiple relationships between tables, you might need to use the USERELATIONSHIP function in your DAX calculations to specify which relationship to use.
Check for Blanks or Errors: Make sure there are no blank or error values in your date fields that might be causing issues with the relationship or calculations.
Best Regards
Hi. No, I removed all of the time stamps from the date field too and still it won't work!
