Hi all,
I am currently struggling with a report, which contains data in the future (until year 2028). To filter the actual data, I added a slicer with a filter on the visual for the last 30 days. If I now move the max date in the slicer to the maximum available date (05.02.2020), the slicer takes the maximum value (31.12.2028) of the data. This is not the correct behavior, right? If I select tomorrow (06.02.2020) manually from the calendar, then set it back to today (05.02.2020) the slicer filters the data correctly. How could that be and how am I able to achieve the correct behavior?
Thank you for your help.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Sorry for our late reply. We cannot access the video you shared with, but based on your description, if put the visual filter in the slicer, it will only limit the available selection of slicer visual, you need to select the value in it, then it will filter other visual, we can change the slicer to list, you can see the 2020-02-05 does not select. We can put the date filter in the page level filter to affect all the visual.
Best regards,
Hi @v-lid-msft ,
I see the problem. But that means, that I am not able to create a slicer, which initially filters the data to the last 30 days in the report. The problem is, that with range slicers users get the visual impression, that the currently selected range is filtered on the page. But the filtering only happens, when the slicer is moved. But even if it's moved, the behavior is not correct. If the date slicer is set through the calendar and then reset with the mouse, the maximum value is not filtered. Please check the video below, I uploaded it on YouTube:

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Anonymous,
it works as designed.
The visual filter only filters the selectable values of the slicer.
If no further filter value is selected on the slicer (ALL), no filter is propagated.
If the filter is to apply to all visuals on the page, it must be used as a page filter.
