Working with pre aggregated data

Currently moving a number of reports from Excel to powerbi. The data we have feeding the excel is pre aggregated so all calculations are done external to power bi and we are unable replicate the formulas in power bi because the way the data is structured.

yep if you can fix your source to provide you the granular data you need, that is the best route.

Not quite clear what you mean about the hierachy? How is this data extracted before its given to you.

I am not quite sure what you mean by this.  'We also can't use the most granula then roll the numbers up because what sits in category wouldn't add up to total. '

how is the data currently aggregatated?  and why doesn't the category add up.

It sounds like you need to redesign the source.

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!
