Hi All
I'm struggling to find any reason or resolution to an authentication problem when using a Custom Connector.
When trying to Get Data from a Custom Connector, the Authentication prompt displays the correct Authentication options that were allowed in the connector, but the Anonymous and Windows methods don't have any options.
As a Test, I created a basic connector in VS, new project and just added the Anonymous and Windows option, no other changes.
As you can see, the Windows option does not display any of the 'Use Current Credentials' or 'Other Credential' options. Anonymous, there is nothing to say creds not required.
I have 2 other custom connectors, varying in complexity and using Web or Folder/File options and both are the same. Basic Authentication does work on a Custom Connector, but Basic is not an option for my project.
Using a standard Power BI Connector like SQL Server, the Authentication options are all working perfectly and as expected.
Because the Credential options aren't working as expected, when I try to get the data, it keeps prompting 'Please specify the credentials' with an Edit Credentials button that does nothing.
I'm sure that if the initial Authentication problem is resolved, that issue will go away.
This leads me to believe it is something with how Power BI is handling Custom Connectors.
I can't find anything anywhere to indicate what the problem is or how to resolve it.
Power BI Desktop is the latest version, I have restarted my machine and there is an OnPremise Gateway (Enterprise) running on a test server.
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening and how to resolve it?
Thanks
Hi @Anonymous
The case below also mentions anonymous Authentication issue, you can refer to it, maybe you will find something in it.

@Anonymous , please check the developer, and check the issue with developer,
you should be able to get information here
https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps?product=power-bi-visuals
Also, make sure the power bi version you have is compatible with this connector
Thanks for your comment.
This is a connector that I am currently building for a customer myself in Visual Studio, it isnt a generally available connector.
