Windows - Alternate credentials not working in Import\Direct query

Hi,

 

I am trying to use Alternate credentials of Window to connect SQL Database, encountering error of couldn't authenticate with credentials.  I am able to connct same instance from SSMS without any issue.

 

I tried with live and import onnection. no luck!.

 

Anything special needs to take care?  Please share your thought.

    Hi Miruthan,

     

    What about using default windows authentication or database authentication? And please check if your sql server instance allows remote connection.

      v-yuta-msftI am able to RDP the SQL server instance. Database authentication and Default window authetication dont have access on Database. Only alternate credentials.

    I fixed this running PowerBI as an Administrator.

     

    Right click on Power BI icon , (right click on the icon again if it was in your task bar) and select "Run as administrator"
