When I right-click on a clustered bar chart visual in the PBI Desktop, I see several options, including Analyze. If I switch to other visuals with the very same data in it, the Analyze option is not there. Why is that?
Thank you.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Visual must be a bar/column chart or line chart (currently supported types).
The field you right-click must be:
A numeric measure (like Sales, Profit, etc.).
Aggregated (like SUM, AVG, etc.).
The chart must have a trend over time or a category that makes comparisons meaningful.
DirectQuery or Import mode — Analyze requires data it can drill into, so it may not work with Live connections (like SSAS MD or some semantic models).
You switch to visuals not supported (like tables, cards, pie charts, etc.).
You're clicking on a dimension (like Region or Product Name) instead of a measure.
The field is not aggregated or not suitable for “Explain the change.”
Your model is not supported (e.g., certain live connections).
Wow! What a great and complete answer. Thank you so much!
