Why does the data type change from Edit Queries Mode to Regular Mode in Power BI Desktop

Why is a column one data type in Edit Query Mode

Time Difference Column Created in Edit Query ModeTime Difference Column Created in Edit Query Mode

And then changes once you Close and Apply???

So maybe this is just the behavior of how the application works - I'm still curious as to why.

In order to get the same data format as it is in Edit Query Mode -

Change Data Type to: Time

Format to HH:mm:ss

I made the mistake of formatting it to: h:mm:ss tt

However - I'm still curious as to why it switches data types from time to decimal when you close and apply out of Query Mode.
