Where is the option to change border color/width on filled-maps?

Made a filled-map of zip codes in power bi.  I used to be able to control the formatting of the border width and color.  Option is no longer there, there's only a color option.  See below; thanks in advance.

Thanks.  I understand the differences between how these two map types render map (one being through Bing, one using JSON.)

What I struggle with is how completely un-usable the product is, for the reasons mentioned above.  You can either have a JSON map (which is fine, in some cases), or a basemap with polygons overlaid with literally no way to format them to make them legible.  To be blunt, it's worthless.

And for the sake of asking... why in the world is there not an option to format borders on the filled map?  Wouldn't this be a very common thing for people to want to do in order to distinguish polygons from one another?  It just seems like a huge oversight to me.

Thank you.  I just want zip codes, with borders, overlaid on a base map and this does not seem possible via either option.  The shapemap lets me do borders, with no basemap.  The filled map lets me do basemap, with no borders.  Am I missing something?

Hi Mossshvlw,

Could it be that you mean the "Shape map" instead of the "filled map"? The shape map does currently have these options whereas the filled map doesn't. Their icons do look quite similar.

Hi Mossshvlw,

Probably not a very satisfying answer but the reason for this is that they are just different visuals. The filled map visual is based on bing maps. So basically whenever you plot locations on there it refers to Bing maps to try and plot your data correctly and give you a fitting map. This means that you'll have some more options regarding the map layout, since Bing maps also contains aerial view overlays etc. which it can plot directly on your visual. the shape map on the other hand uses custom TopoJSON maps. this means you have a lot more customizability options, such as uploading your own custom maps etc. but the downside is that you won't have the bing native options to plot aerial views and such right out of the box.

You could post the idea to have missing options like borders and colours added to the fill map on the https://ideas.powerbi.com page.
