What's the best practice of pulling salesforce formula fields?

Have you tried the Salesforce content pack for Power BI?

I have read that thread which API has 2000 limitation.   I haven't tried SF content Pack but seems like Power BI is over complicated for our request at the moment.  So we are going to stick on Power Query as they are same thing but can be used in excel.

I've just discovered the dot -> t issue I have mentioned above.  It was the configure issue in my excel.  It's fixed now.

Hi @tigernsw were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. which pulls data from the SF objects API  and therefore does not have this 2k rows limitation. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

I am a bit of a novice on both programs. I believe I have everything expanded ( i am seeing each contract with change order total as well as each individual change order and value under that contract in sales force), but I am still getting "record" and the column from the record is not pulling in. Any idea what could be causing this?

Thx Venessa, Yes, that seems like the quickest way.  Then I have to combine the two columns by using Excel formula, not a big deal but needs further trainings for people without much tech background.

I've also tried Power Query, but the numberic data became wired.   Such as: 442.11 became 442t11

Did you have same expereinces?
