DAX, a calculation language designed to interact with relational data like in Power BI Desktop, is used in calculated columns to calculate results. Over 200 methods, operators, and constructions are available in the DAX library.
It offers enormous versatility for developing formulas to compute outcomes for almost any data analysis application. Check out Power BI Desktop's DAX basics for more information on DAX.
Formulas in DAX are comparable to formulas in Excel. In truth, DAX and Excel share a lot of features. However, DAX functions are designed to operate on data that has been interactively sliced or filtered in a report, such as in Power BI Desktop. Each row of a table in Excel can have a separate formula.

An evaluated DAX expression determines the columns' contents row by row. Based on the tools you choose, the user interface varies.
When you select the final column on the right and choose "Add Column," Excel and Analysis Services ask you to enter the expression in the formula textbox.
By right-clicking the new column and choosing the Rename Column menu item, you can rename it before or after defining the expression.
Hope you find this useful 🙂
